Biography:
Dr Md Saiful Islam is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical Sciences in the University of Limerick. He is on leave from Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) where he is working as a Principle Scientific Officer in the field of Biomass and Bioenergy. He earned his BSc and MSc in Chemistry from University of Dhaka. He obtained his PhD in Biochemical Engineering from Institute of Process Engineering in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He has received numerous awards and fellowships specially CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship for his PhD (2014-2018), JICA Fellowship for Biomass Technology Research (2008-2009) in National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Hiroshima, Japan and Best Research Award for development of “Portable Fiber Glass Biogas Plant” in the year 2013 from the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources in Bangladesh.
