DPTC success for CareerFIT Plus Call 2

DPTC has been awarded five CareerFIT PLUS fellowships in the latest round of funding from Enterprise Ireland. Three of the successful applicants have accepted these positions and will work with our PIs and Industry Partners over the next three years, addressing industrially relevant areas of research.

We are delighted to announce and introduce the following three Fellows, who have accepted their CareerFIT positions, and their research teams and themes. The new Fellows will begin their research in the next few months, and we look forward to meeting them and hearing more about their work as it progresses.

Dr Bhavya ML

Bhavya will be working under Brijesh Tiwari, Teagasc, in collaboration with Moorepark Technologies Limited. She will be researching Plasma Assisted Spray drying TEchnologies for tailored healthy and functional dairy products (PASTE).

Dr Mahmoud Abdel-Hamid

Mahmoud will be working with Prof. Gavin Walker, University of Limerick and Dairygold. Mahmoud’s research is entitled “Development of next generation nutritionally fortified fermented milk”.

Dr Mestawet Taye

Mestawet will be working with Dr Seamus O’Mahony, University College Cork, in collaboration with Carbery. Mestawet’s research is examining the development of whey protein-based phospholipid-enriched ingredients for nutri-functional applications.
